Chiarina announces 10th season, Celebrations!

The 2024-25 season marks Chiarina’s 10th year of bringing inspiring, distinctive chamber music performances to Capitol Hill. Each of our seven concerts will celebrate the power of music to connect us. These programs will feature the engaging artistic voices of today, treasured classics of the chamber music literature, and partnerships both longstanding and new.

Highlights include:

  • The Chiarina debuts of exciting guest artists including the groundbreaking Imani Winds, acclaimed pianist Michelle Cann, and clarinetist icon Ricardo Morales
  • The return of popular guest artists, including Attacca Quartet violinist Domenic Salerni, soprano Melissa Wimbish, and cellist Marcy Rosen
  • A celebration of the imagination at our second concert for families, featuring baritone Carl DuPont — soloist and librettist for Chiarina’s 2022 premiere of The Best Cuisine — performing a new narration for Saint-Saëns’s delightful Carnival of the Animals
  • A commemoration of Black History Month with a chamber opera that brings to life the intriguing story of performer and activist Josephine Baker
  • Hallmarks of the chamber music repertoire by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, Dvořák, and more
  • Music by Louise Farrenc and Florence Price, recently receiving long-overdue recognition for their distinctive compositions
  • Seven works by living American composers, including the world premiere of Chiarina’s new commission by Venezuelan-American composer Reinaldo Moya, along with recent pieces by Reena Esmail, Valerie Coleman, Carlos Simon, Tom Cipullo, and more.

Program details can be found on our Concerts & Tickets page. Consider a Season Pass, which offers admission to all seven concerts at a 10% discount.
