Acclaimed Pianist Michelle Cann Joins Chiarina for 2024-25 Season Opener

Chiarina’s season will open on Saturday, September 28, 2024 with a celebratory concert featuring pianist Michelle Cann, a 2023 Grammy Award winner. She has been praised for her “sterling artistry” (Gramophone) and for the “intuition, intelligence, and passion” she brings to the music of Florence Price (Philadelphia Inquirer), an American composer who has recently received long-overdue recognition: read more about her life and career here. Cann will perform Price’s Fantasie Nègre and will be joined by Domenic Salerni and Jesse Mills (violin), Paul Laraia (viola), and Gabriel Cabezas (cello) to perform Price’s first piano quintet. Robert Schumann’s resounding Piano Quintet rounds out this exciting program that kicks off our tenth season of bringing compelling chamber music performances to Capitol Hill. Please join us!
