Clarinetist icon Ricardo Morales joins Chiarina artistic directors and violinist Domenic Salerni in the world premiere of “I Will Dance, and Dance with You,” a work written especially for Chiarina by Venezuelan-American composer Reinaldo Moya. He describes this piece as “a celebration of a life through dance, an exploration of the meeting place between laughter and tears.” Dedicated to the life of his brother Manuel, Moya’s work draws on a myriad of musical styles rooted in dance—from Brazilian choro music to the Venezuelan waltz to the Spanish flamenco.

This new work is bookended by two cornerstone works of clarinet chamber music: Brahms’s beloved trio for clarinet, cello, and piano; and Bartók’s spirited Contrasts.
